Plagiarism and Academic Scholarship Issues

Harvard Extension School expects students to understand and maintain the highest standards of academic integrity.

Being a part of an academic research community means that you believe in intellectual freedom and the discovery of truth--critical philosophical stances that ensure rigorous scholarship. The health of this institution relies on the academic integrity of all of its members, including you as you undergo your capstone work.

Breaches of academic integrity are subject to review by the Administrative Board and may be grounds for disciplinary action, up to and including permanent withdrawal from the Extension School. The Extension School website provides valuable tips for avoiding plagiarism and resources on how to accurately use outside sources. Please review this information carefully to ensure that your work is your's alone and you give credit where credit is due to fellow scholars in the field.
